Full Moon Sister

Winter is upon us now. The season's change parallels my life. My paws are cold and wet from snow as I travel through this strange land in search of a new pack. This frozen landscape reflects my full moon, leaving an eerie greenish glow to light my way. I call her my full moon, for she is there in the sky on this lonely night for me, to show me the way, to keep me company, to listen to my howl, to give me hope, my Full Moon Sister.

I smell the scent of a wolf pack here in this foreign land. I smile as I leave them a little surprise of my own. A lone wolf has left his scent. That lone wolf is me. I howl to my Sister, "I am MountainWolf! Smell my scent!"

I start to tire as the night wears on. I take shelter in a copse of pine trees, the scent of evergreen fills my senses as I doze off into a restless sleep. I dream of springtime as warmth melts my frozen heart. I roll in a field of daisy with my female, my love, the blue sky fills our soul. In this dream we both know nothing else matters except for us. We are so happy. We are so content. We are one with each other. We are pack.

I awaken to the sound of birds singing as they anticipate the soon-to-be rising sun. Full Moon Sister sets upon the horizon, passing the torch to Bright Sun Brother. I know my dream was a true dream. Full Moon Sister will make it so. Ah, I can smell the daisys.

I shake the snow and ice off of my fur and stretch my bones. A new day. A new beginning. The bitter winds blow right through me, leaving me chilled. I tell myself this winter's chill will pass and spring will soon arrive. Just as my life changes, seasons change. My cold lonely winter and the chill it brings me will be followed by my warmth of spring, rich with the promise of new life. I just have to keep moving on and not let the frost permeate my soul again. Think of warmth and love and fields of daisy and blue sky. I start my new day searching for a new pack, searching for my field of daisy, searching for my love, in this cold winter's chill. Seasons change. Spring is coming.

Full Moon Sister

Winter is ending
Bright Sun Brother melts my cold
Springtime is coming
Season of promise, someone to hold

Summer surrounds me
Fields of daisys fill my soul
Autumn will follow
Seasons change will make me whole

MountainWolf howls
Miss my pack, miss them so
New love will find me
Full Moon Sister tells me so

I search for you in moonlight
I dream of you in twilight
I feel your warmth in sunlight
Full Moon Sister tells me so

We roll in fields of daisy
We hold each other lazy
We love each other crazy
Full Moon Sister tells me so
